When VPNing into Hong Kong, prefer HK nodes on local ISPs (HKT, HKBN, CMHK, SmarTone) residential ranges. HK IPs are scarce for Asian streaming use cases, and even datacenter IPs get blacklisted by Netflix HK / HBO Max HK. Subscribing to HK services requires a HK address + HKD credit card or PayPal HK — overseas cards have higher acceptance than for mainland, but billing address must still match.
